Random Thought #52 - I Don't Know About You But...

I should have posted this yesterday really... but I hadn't actually come up with anything to post about until today so better late than never.

So this advert has been on TV recently... you may have seen it... (this is the full version of the advert)

Anyway as you can see it's for J'adore by Dior and the advert stars famous actresses - past and present.

Now I have nothing against the advert really it's just it runs along quite smoothly and then when it shows Marilyn Monroe it's a bit jarring for me.

It's like... Dior, Dior, Dior, Dior, Dior, CHANEL, Dior, Dior.

Do you see what I'm getting at?

I see Marilyn Monroe I think Chanel not Dior.

That's just how it is...

Random Thought #45 - You Wait Ages For An Advert To Come...

Given that it's nearly Christmas I thought I'd treat you with an extra random post this week (my regular Friday post will still come along tomorrow - although be warned it's not in quite the same spirit as this one). I say extra but for the second week in a row I've missed Teaser Tuesday due to Christmas card production. So technically this means you are getting the regularly advertised number of posts this week.

But anyway...

For me I never start to really feel that it's Christmas until I've seen the Coca-Cola advert on TV (watching on the internet wouldn't have counted). And although the internet assured me that it had been on TV since 10th November and other people assured me that they had seen it (it's not Christmas until I have seen it) I only saw the advert for the first time on 16th December. I clearly have been watching the wrong channel since November as after I saw the advert for the first time I then saw it another two times.

So in ninety minutes I saw it three times. You wait ages for a bus to come and then three come along at once. Well the same can now be said of adverts.

(If you haven't already seen this advert on TV then this doesn't count as the beginning of Christmas - you'll just have to watch more TV!)

Those Random Moments

In my immediate family we have the habit of quoting random sources at random times. The smallest thing will have us quoting endless TV shows, films, adverts etc. And they don't necessarily have to have a link to the current conversation.

At the moment I have two that I say randomly on a fairly regular basis, one is from a TV show and one from an advert.

First up we have 'Skills!' which me and my sister got from Morgana Robinson's 'impersonation' of Fearne Cotton. She says it quite early in to the video.

And the other is from a BT advert which brings us 'Rocking from an early age'. It is said right near the end of the advert... but it only lasts 41 seconds.
