Teaser Tuesday - And Now For Something Completely Different

It's Tuesday yet again.

First up is a quick reminder of the rules of this weekly book meme:

Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Then head over to Should Be Reading to add the link for your teaser.

This week I'm reading something historical... not that I never read historical novels... but it has been a while since I last read such a book. Anyway on with the teaser:

"In places the ground she passes is uneven, the grass lying in shallow hollows where a grave has subsided. A careless visitor, one who did not know his way, might plunge into one of these, plunge in up to waist or shoulders, even vanish entirely."

Page 54, Pure, Andrew Miller

And this book counts towards the New Author Challenge 2012 as hosted by Literary Escapism
