Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by MizB on Should Be Reading.

The rules are simple:

Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

So here is my teaser for the week:

"I was still thinking about the six skulls in sealed paper bags and the young Jane Doe's head in the cooler when I opened the door to our apartment on Lake Street. Martha, my border collie and pal of many years, whimpered and tore across the floor, then threw her full weight against me, almost knocking me down."

This book counts towards the Book Chick City Mystery & Suspense Reading Challenge 2012.

Random Quote #82

He who dares wins. He who hesitates... don't.

A To Z Reflections Post 2012

The Aftermath Of The A To Z Blogging Challenge

April is over and now is the time to reflect on what we have all learnt (or not) over thirty days and twenty six posts.

Over the course of the challenge I tried to visit at least ten blogs from the sign up list each day so I visited over three hundred in total. I knew from the start that I wasn't going to be able to visit all of the blogs on the list.

The Good

I discovered some great blogs - none of which I can actually name... if I scroll through the list of blogs I'm currently following it is difficult to pick out which ones are new.

Then there were the blogs I clicked on... and then realised that I do actually already follow them (another reason why it's difficult to name the new blogs I'm following - I can't just use the sign up list and compare as there are blogs I followed before the challenge on there - which is to be expected).

The Bad

I also discovered the 'delights' of spam. I turned off the word verification and made it so anyone could comment. So at least once a day I had an email to tell me there was a spam comment in Russian (thankfully I didn't have to track them down and delete them - they were automatically deleted from my blog).

And The Next Year...

I've already thought of a theme for next year - but it's a secret for now.

Teaser Tuesday - I'm Back

Did you miss me?

Well the 2012 A To Z Challenge has come to an end and so I can return to taking part in Teaser Tuesdays.

The rules for this are very simple:

Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Then head over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the latest Teaser Tuesday post in the comments.

So my teaser is a non-fiction one this week:

"Clauss was the perfect recipient, because he was such an efficient spy. Kuhlenthal was the ideal spy to pass the information on, because he was worse than useless."

Pg 168, Operation Mincemeat, Ben MacIntyre

See you next week.
