Teaser Tuesday
Taking part in Teaser Tuesday is simple. All you have to do is:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
then head over to Should Be Reading and add your post link to the comments section.
Here are my teasers this week:

More or less instantly a dispatcher asked, 'What is your current location?'

Some Clever Title Or Other
I didn't really know what to call this post.
But you'll probably never be able to hear these film lines again without thinking of these videos :)
Enjoy!

Level Up - Fun & Games
Today is the day of the Level Up Blogfest hosted by Mithril Wisdom and Geek Banter.
All you have to do to take part is:
...talk about a game you play or used to play; tell us how it works and share your love of the game with the rest of us. It can be any kind of game you like, from World of Warcraft to Hopscotch, from Monopoly to Blackjack and everything else in between. Tell us what you love about that game.
I really wanted to choose a classic game; something from my childhood perhaps. But no, it was not to be. I kept coming back round to a game that I currently play... more or less every day. Not all day you understand, just a bit to blow off steam sometimes.
That game is Call Of Duty.
Call Of Duty is a series of video games - war and battle based games. Guns and grenades type of thing.
I have played Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, Call Of Duty: World At War, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Call Of Duty: Black Ops, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops II.
I've played the online version of them all except World At War. But my current favourites are the most recent two - Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops II.
I like playing COD online the best. The regular version that is... not so keen on the zombie mode. But back to the things I like. I like the fact that you can go on the same mode, same map, same side (by that I mean within the game e.g. SAS, Spetsnaz, Mercs, FBI etc.) and the game will be different every time. Each time your team will be made up of different people - maybe you'll be up against someone who was on your team last time, maybe you'll be up against a whole new set of players.
You can play with and against people from all over the world... and some a little closer. The other week I was playing online when I heard someone mention that they were from the same town as me - of all the lobbies, in all the games...
COD online is fun, you can have a laugh. There's rivalry and comradeship. Of course you always get some pain-in-the-a*se who cheats (see moron class 4), or sends abusive messages (chillax it's only a game), or takes it a little too seriously (I SAID IT'S ONLY A GAME!), or irritates the hell out of you for whatever reason. But mostly they are an all right bunch.
I find that you have good days and bad days on COD. Some days I am on fire - my kill/death ratio is high (in my favour). I'm taking people out left, right and centre, winning games, unlocking awards, levelling up etc. And some days I just can't seem to hit anything. Even trying to shoot someone stood still right in front of me seems too much of a challenge.
And then there are the technical problems - like when you are in the middle of a game and the connection is lost (usually just after I've achieved something new or had a really good game - so it doesn't get added to my stats :( )
If you click the links at the top of the post you can go and visit the host blogs and find other game orientated posts to read.
And I'm going to leave you with a phrase that will probably mean very little to anyone who hasn't played COD: MW2 in campaign mode (or maybe if you've been in the military it might mean something).
Stay frosty.

Teaser Tuesday - Nearly There
I am still on the same book as last week but I'm so close to the end it's ridiculous - so it'll definitely be something different next week.
So anyway...
Taking part in Teaser Tuesday is easy-peasy.
Then scoot over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the comments.
Here are my teasers:

We're All Mad Here
I can't remember if I mentioned my trip to Birmingham last year to attend the Birmingham MCM but I'm going again this year.
I went with my sister and we saw a lot of people in cosplay.
So this year when we decided to go again my sister immediately asked me if I was going to dress up. I ummed and aahed and then in the end thought 'what the hell?'
So we have decided to go as characters from the vidoe game Alice: Madness Returns. Well actaully we are going as two different versions of the title character - Alice! Alice: Madness Returns is a strange version of the Alice story - and very eepy-cray at times it is as well
Alice has various different dresses throughout the game and I'm going to be going dressed in the blue version - 'regular Alice'? I don't really know what that version is called. And my sister is going as what is known as 'London Alice'. ('Regular' Alice is on the left, 'London' Alice on the right)
Now at the moment all I have got finished is the pendant for the necklace - which I made from scratch I might add. I'm in the process of painting the knife (vorpal blade). I've started on the buckles for my boots, made pattern pieces for the apron, marked out where I need to shorten my dress to, and am in the process of working out how to get my petticoats to work - they are too short so I think if I tack one on to the other I should get the right length and the right amount of poof!
I've just got to get all that done before 16th March!
My sister said she was surprised at the amount of effort I'm putting in - well if I'm going to go dressed like a prat I might as well do it properly! It's all in the details.
I'll post photos as I get more of my outfit completed :)

I See Another Blogfest On The Horizon
I have come across another blogfest. This one is on the 18th March.
It's hosted by Ninja Captain Alex (or Alex J. Cavanaugh to those who haven't come across him before - although how you have managed to travel the blogosphere and not come across at least one of his blogfests is beyond me. You must be new here).
And all you have to do is list your top 10 favourite movies.
Simple?
Well I've so far only come up with four... in no particular order. A movie has to be particularly fantastic for me to have it count as one of favourites. Really it has to be the type of film that I can watch again and again and it never gets old.
Click here to go and sign up
I'm now off to compile the rest of my list.
