I can't believe after three weeks I'm still on the same book!
I don't know why... it's not like it's a particularly long book... or that I haven't been reading at all.
But I think a third teaser from the the same book would be weird.
So instead I'm going to direct you to my post from Friday... it's to do with reading.
And to read other people's teasers (people who haven't lost the ability to get through a book) head over to Should Be Reading.

I'm Reading A Book...
I've had the same book for Teaser Tuesday two weeks in a row. Last week went by really quickly and I hardly found time to read.
So this video pretty much somes up what I want to say with regard to reading...

Teaser Tuesday - Same Old Book, Different Week
I don't know where the last week has gone but I'm still on the same book as I was last week.
So you're getting a second teaser from this book.
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by MizB at Should Be Reading.
And the rules are simple:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Then head over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the comments.
So here's my teaser this week:
"It was my turn to stare.
'Didn't you telephone me, not five minutes ago, and tell me that Mr Ackroyd had been found murdered?'"

Post A To Z Road Trip - Are We Nearly There Yet?
Are you ready to go on a road trip?
You thought that the A To Z Challenge was all done and dusted didn't you? You've written 26 posts. You've done your reflections post. So what else is there to do?
Well there's the Post A To Z Road Trip of course! Duh!
If you managed to visit all 1718 blogs that signed up to the A To Z 2012 Challenge, well, congratulations. I'm not sure how you managed it, you must be superhuman.
But for all the others, like me, who only visited a tiny fraction of them that is where the road trip comes in.
Tangent: Whenever I hear the words "road trip" I immediately think of the bit in Legally Blonde when Elle tells her friends she is going to Harvard and their response is:
"You mean like on vacay?"
"Let's all go."
"Road trip!"

Or so I thought - I mean I visited over 300 blogs during the challenge. But then I worked out that I still had 1400 to visit!
This could take me some time.

Will you be taking part?

So here's my teaser for the week:
"Mrs Ferrars' husband died just over a year ago, and Caroline had constantly asserted, without the least foundation for the assertion, that his wife poisoned him.
She scorns my invariable rejoinder that Mr Ferrars died of acute gastirtis, helped on by habitual over-indulgence in alcoholic beverages."

First Loves Blogfest
Today is the the day of the First Loves Blogfest hosted by Alex J Cavanaugh.
And all you have to do is:
"...on May 14, post your first loves – first movie, first song/band, first book, and first person. Four loves, one blogfest!"
1st Movie
When I was little I used to love watching the 1939 cartoon film of Gulliver's Travels. My Nana had it on video and apparently I used to watch it every single week (I think this might be over exaggerating a teeny bit but I am sure I watched it quite a lot).
I discovered that you can watch the whole of Gulliver's Travels on Youtube - so if you have a spare hour and a quarter click here.
1st Band
The first band that really had an impact on me was The Spice Girls. I was very in to the whole 'Girl Power' thing. And I had all their albums, various posters and merchandise...
1st Book
My first favourite book (and it's still up their in my list of favourites) was George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl (be warned the Roald Dahl website does play music and make random noises).

1st Love
My first instinct was to tell you to mind your own business in regards to this.
But then I thought I'd tell you a little story. Looking back I don't think it was really love. We were too young really to understand that.
But when I was four (yeah I know), and had just started school I had a 'boyfriend' called Tom. I use the term loosely because were only four at the time. Anyway I was convinced that in just twelve short years Tom and I would get married and we would live happily ever after. Suffice to say it didn't happen. It lasted about a year (maybe less I'm not sure) before he became the 'boyfriend' of one of my friends.
Aah... young love...
So those were my firsts - what are yours?

School Chairs
During the A To Z Blogging Challenge I came across a post by Caitlin on her blog Happy Hootenanny. The post in question was about the chairs in her school cafeteria and how one chair in particular was an unknown colour that caused great discussion.
It made me think about the chairs at my primary school. They were grey plastic and came in various sizes - each size was denoted by coloured bolt type things that held the back of the chair on.
The chair in the picture isn't quite right in shape but it was the closest that I could find (it is some time ago since I was at primary school).
So the smallest chairs - the little tiny iddy biddy ones - had red bolts on the back and the slightly bigger ones had blue on the bag. But there was only one chair in our classroom that was the next size up from that which had green bolts on the back.
And there would be a mad schuffle for the green chair because then you would be sat ever so slightly higher than everyone else (except for the teacher).
I wonder whatever became of the chair... you never know, maybe it's still at my old school somewhere.

Teaser Tuesday
Teaser Tuesday is a weekly book meme hosted by MizB on Should Be Reading.
The rules are simple:
So here is my teaser for the week:
"I was still thinking about the six skulls in sealed paper bags and the young Jane Doe's head in the cooler when I opened the door to our apartment on Lake Street. Martha, my border collie and pal of many years, whimpered and tore across the floor, then threw her full weight against me, almost knocking me down."

A To Z Reflections Post 2012
The Aftermath Of The A To Z Blogging Challenge
April is over and now is the time to reflect on what we have all learnt (or not) over thirty days and twenty six posts.
Over the course of the challenge I tried to visit at least ten blogs from the sign up list each day so I visited over three hundred in total. I knew from the start that I wasn't going to be able to visit all of the blogs on the list.
The Good
I discovered some great blogs - none of which I can actually name... if I scroll through the list of blogs I'm currently following it is difficult to pick out which ones are new.
Then there were the blogs I clicked on... and then realised that I do actually already follow them (another reason why it's difficult to name the new blogs I'm following - I can't just use the sign up list and compare as there are blogs I followed before the challenge on there - which is to be expected).
The Bad
I also discovered the 'delights' of spam. I turned off the word verification and made it so anyone could comment. So at least once a day I had an email to tell me there was a spam comment in Russian (thankfully I didn't have to track them down and delete them - they were automatically deleted from my blog).
And The Next Year...
I've already thought of a theme for next year - but it's a secret for now.

Teaser Tuesday - I'm Back
Did you miss me?
Well the 2012 A To Z Challenge has come to an end and so I can return to taking part in Teaser Tuesdays.
The rules for this are very simple:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Then head over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the latest Teaser Tuesday post in the comments.
So my teaser is a non-fiction one this week:
"Clauss was the perfect recipient, because he was such an efficient spy. Kuhlenthal was the ideal spy to pass the information on, because he was worse than useless."
Pg 168, Operation Mincemeat, Ben MacIntyre
See you next week.
