Well here we are Tuesday again. And this week I have teasers from another new book... well new to me anyway.
The rules for this weekly book meme are simple:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Then all you have to do is nip over to Should Be Reading and add you link to the comments... and visit a few of the others.
My teasers:
"Then I hear a sound. It's one I haven't heard in a while, a sound that will make any human being with a pulse stand up and take breathless notice."
Page 38, Alison Hewitt Is Trapped - Madeleine Roux
I actually won this book in a giveaway held by Book Chick City and it counts towards not 1... not 2... but 3 different reading challenges that I'm taking part in.
The first is the Book Chick City Zombie Challenge 2012
Then there is the Book Chick City Horror & Urban Fantasy Challenge 2012
And then, as I've never read any of Madeleine Roux's books before, there is the Literary Escapism New Author Challenge 2012
So this is a multi-tasking book... or should that be multi-challenging book?

Random Thought #38 - No Fair
Mario & Sonic At The London 2012 Olympic Games has been released... on 3DS and Wii.
Now I have the first two Mario & Sonic Olympics games for my DS... but it looks as though you can't play 3DS games on a normal DS.
Nintendo that is so unfair! *sticks bottom lip out and sulks*
I'm not going to buy a 3DS just for one game...

Teaser Tuesday - I Was Absent Last Week
I didn't take part in Teaser Tuesday last week. We had to have our dog put to sleep so I wasn't really in the blogging/teasing mood.
But anyway I'm back this week... and last week I actually started a new book - yay!
So here are the 'rules':
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Then head over to Should Be Reading to share your link.
So here is my offering for the week:
"Well away from the main group, a few picketers carried antivampire signs. The wolf bouncers stared straight ahead as if the crowd didn't exist, except for an occasional snarl when one got too close."

And this book counts towards the Horror & Urban Fantasy Reading Challenge as hosted by Book Chick City

Random Quote #71
If you want to write
fiction, the best thing you can do is take two aspirins, lie down in a dark
room, and wait for the feeling to pass. If the feeling persists, you probably
ought to write a novel.

Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain.

A To Z Blogging Challenge... In The Not Too Distant Future
If you only read my blog via Google reader then you will not have noticed the A To Z Blogging Challenge badge over on the right... so not all of you will know about it.
The A To Z Blogging Challenge is back and you can now sign up for it - but wait until you've finished reading this or you might get sidetracked and never come back... :(
Anyway the challenge is that throughout April you blog every day about a different letter of the alphabet. Most participants go from A to Z but some mix it up and go from Z to A. But you do one post each day - a different letter everyday.
Now because there are not enough letters of the alphabet to have a post every single day of April you don't post on Sundays.
Now this is where it gets a tiny bit complicated. You don't post on Sundays except when the month starts on a Sunday... this year it does just that. So you don't post on Sundays except on Sunday 1st April - do a post then.
Did that make sense? No well tootle over to A To Z Challenge and all the information is there including useful posts on how to survive.
I think I may be mad taking part as on my other blog I am currently taking part in Sally Q's 100k In 100 Days which doesn't end until 9th April... and writing blog posts for your own blog doesn't count towards your total. So I'll have 9000 words (and no doubt more) to write for that and then 8 posts for the challenge!
And this year I've decided to try and be truly random. Last year I ranted and raved about things I liked and things I didn't. But they were all things I wrote down as they came to me.
This year I'm going to sit down to write a post and the first thing that comes in to my head when I think of the letter in question will be what I write about (OK so if it's something really boring I might opt for the second thing to come in to my head).
So go and sign up... and start preparing today!

Teaser Tuesday - Different Week, Same Book
So I'm still on the same book that I was reading last week... but I'm further along so I can give you a different teaser.
Teaser Tuesday is hosted by MizB on Should Be Reading and the rules are very simple:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Then just pop over to Should Be Reading and share your teasers.
So away we go:
"Wimsey thanked him, and, collecting Parker from an adjacent office, rushed him briskly down the corridor.
'I don't like it,' he said, 'that is, of course, it's very gratifying to know that our first steps in psychology have led to action, so to speak, but I wish to God it hadn't been such decisive action.'"

Random Thought #37 - Blogging Problems
I tried to unsubscribe from a blog (I will not name the blog). It's not that it's not a good blog, it just wasn't interesting me anymore.
So I unsubscribed... but every so often the blog in question reappears in my blog list - it's stalking me!
I recently found out that blogger intends to stop allowing you to subscribe to non blogger blogs using Google Friend Connect... perhaps that will sort out the problem.
The other problem I have is that on this blog (it doesn't do it on my writing blog for some reason) when I go to update my blog list down there on the right hand side when I click save it just sits there supposedly 'saving...'. in the end I have to click cancel otherwise I'd be there forever.
I thought maybe I should delete it and try adding the gadget again but then it just sits there 'deleting...' forever and a day.
I tried looking it up and discovered that other people have the same problem... but no one has an answer... yet.
Then I noticed that the list had vanished. So I tried adding it again. But it wouldn't seem to save. So I clicked the 'X' button to get rid of it and when I checked my layout it had saved it.
Confusion reigns!
Any weird technical problems happening round your blogs recently?
