Procrastinating

I was wasting some time (as you do) on I Can Has Cheezburger? As I came to the end of each page I kept thinking 'just one more page, just one more page'.

Then I came across a certain pie chart...

...which I was going to embed right there...

...unfortunately I Can Has Cheezburger have changed their site and I can't work out how to (or if you still can) embed stuff from there to here :(

So you'll have to click this link and go look for yourself.

Teaser Tuesday

I forgot about Teaser Tuesday last week. I only remembered as I was getting in to bed...

But it's OK because I was still on the same book that I had been on for the past month.

I have a new book this week!

So here we go:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Then head over to Should Be Reading and add your link to the comments.

Here are my teasers:

"Lookit, I don't need saving."
"I hate to argue, sister, but you look like you do."

This book counts towards the Mystery & Suspense Reading Challenge 2012 hosted by Book Chick City.

Decisions, Decisions... In Blogfest Form

I have some thinking to do... because I have come across a blogfest.

On 17th September Alex J. Cavanaugh is hosting the Genre Favourites Blogfest.

All you have to do is post your favourite genres for the following:

Movie
Music
Books
And a guilty pleasure genre from any of the three categories!

Now that's where the problem comes in... I have to decide which are my favourites... I think I can just about narrow down my favourites for books and guilty pleasure... but the others... err we'll have to wait and see.

A New Class Of Moron

Way back during the A To Z Challenge 2011 I defined three classes of moron.

Well I have recently discovered a new class of moron. This type of moron usually frequents the game Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3... and they are usually not alone.

When playing Call Of Duty online there are various games you can play. For example you can play a straight up team deathmatch (kill the opposing team), you can play domination (capture three bases), the list goes on.

Well there is a specific game called Infected. Basically the game starts, one person becomes 'infected' and they have to 'infect' everyone else. You win by either infecting everyone or surviving until the end.

Now on some of the maps in Call Of Duty there are what I call hidey holes. They are usually dead ends. No one can come up behind you, there is only one entrance.

This is where the moron comes in... and they usually come in twos.

You see when you play Call Of Duty online, if you have more than one controller, you can have someone play the game with you, whilst sat in the same room.

So moron number one gets infected, moron number two finds a hidey hole, and moron number one block the entrance to said hiding place.

This mainly works if moron number two is the last survivor as you cannot kill your own team mates.

What is the point in playing the game if you are going to cheat?

Now I have taken to leaving these games as I don't want to play with such idiots. However my brother has said that I should be able to report people for doing this... it is ruining the game for other people after all.

So if you are a category four moron either stop this or hope you don't come across me... because as of now I will report you.

Teaser Tuesday

Well I am still on the same book that I have been reading for the last two weeks. I don't know why but historical fiction and non fiction books always seem to take me twice as long to read as other books. It's not that I don't enjoy the books any less or or that I don't find them interesting... they just take me longer to get through for some reason.

So this week I decided to share some teasers from a book that I currently dip in and out of. Which given that it is a collection of stories rather than one makes it easy to start and stop.

So what you have to do to take part in Teaser Tuesday is simple:

• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Then head over to Should Be Reading to add your link to the comments.

So my teasers for the week are:

'Yes, a queer mongrel, with a most amazing power of scent. I would rather have Toby's help than that of the whole detective force of London.'

Chocolate! Nom, Nom, Nom!

As I travelled across the blogosphere this week I came across a blogfest that was calling out to me...

Drum roll please...

The What's Your Chocolate Blogfest!!!

One of the hosts is Laura Eno (who is also the person that I found out about the blogfest from) and all you have to do on 10th September is post about something chocolate related.

I feel some research coming on!!!

People who claim that they're evil are usually no worse than the rest of us... It's people who claim that they're good, or any way better than the rest of us, that you have to be wary of.

Random Thought #41 - Enough With The Adverts

Sometimes Internet, you run slowly … sometimes very slowly. But what really drives me up the wall is when I’m waiting for a page to upload… or wanting to leave a page and down in the corner of the window it says ‘waiting for’ followed by an advert or a link that I’m not even interested in.

I don’t want cheaper insurance. And since October 2011 I have only been on a certain social media site twice. And then it was for about 30 seconds each time.

Your advert that is trying to get my browser to ‘not respond’ is not going to encourage me to click on it.

And one more thing Internet – stop stalking me when it comes to shopping. So I do a bit of browsing looking for a certain product. And then when I check my emails, or go on other people’s blogs, or one of the many, many other social media sites out there, I’m confronted with adverts for what I’ve just been searching for.

Stop it – Internet I will ask for your help when I want it. Stalking me is not going to get me to buy anything any faster…

Now do what I actually want you to do and stop with the adverts!
